about

This song isn't about a brothel. It was inspired by a family I met years ago that seemed to consider religion only in terms of the profit it brought them from their selling endeavors, with no thought to what might actually exist beyond the objects they could see. A shame, really.

Written over thirty years ago but never laid down to tape as they say, this song wouldn't exist without the input and sweaty live performances by the guys in Blond Popsicle (Steve Heflin, Kenny Pittman, and an assortment of drummers including Jim Woodall, Chris Verene, Brent Addison, and Clark Staton), which was a band I was in from the early 80's to early 90's. You would've liked us.

lyrics

It's a whorehouse (etc ad nauseum)

Her mama's a whore and her daddy's a whore
And her brother's a whore and her sister's a whore
And her dog's a whore and her cat's a whore
And she's a whore
And I'm never gonna go there again

Walking down that street, baby
Everybody that I meet says
That she sold out, her whole family sold out
They took the plan
For a perfect, happy life
And then they twisted it
Until it looked like James Dean
After the car crash
I can's handle that

Sitting in her car
And it seems a little bit bizarre
That she could hate me, her whole family hates me
They praise the Lord
When they want their bonus checks
But then they can't conceive
What lies beyond the hair
That covers their bodies
It's a stupid mess

It's a whorehouse (etc ad nauseum)

Her mama's a whore and her daddy's a whore
And her brother's a whore and her sister's a whore
And her dog's a whore and her cat's a whore
And she's a whore
And I'm never gonna go there again

about

The Marble Tea Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey

Drawing mandalas and watching Captain Kangaroo...that's pretty much what it's like in here. I enjoy writing songs about my cats and cartoon insects, but I'm also fond of feeling up the tentacles that lead to the oneness of existence. That's the Marble Tea experience.

Recommended for fans of Jonathan Richman, Robyn Hitchcock, Jazz Butcher, Magnetic Fields, etc.
