Thank you (fa bean like mee)
Thank you (fa bean like mee)
Abstract ennui, existential dread
Live or die, just flip a coin and lie down on the bed

Infinite light and limitless love

Not That Guy
04:20
|

Aren't you like that guy?
No, I'm not that guy
They said, aren't you like that guy?
No, I'm not that guy
Hey, I dropped in for the first time
Super-high with some friends of mine
She gave us a nod, she gave me a grin
She said how ya doin' man, where've you been?
I don't know what you're talking about
This is my first time here
You're kinda freaking me out!
Aren't you like that guy?
No, I'm not that guy
They said, aren't you like that guy?
No, I'm not that guy
So get it out of your head
Get it out of your head
So it went down at the restaurant
You always come in with that voodoo dude
There're songs on your shoes that you always write
Look at your sole man, there's one there tonight
Well, I fell into an Angel Heart pit
When I looked at my shoe
This song was written on it!
Aren't you like that guy?
No, I'm not that guy
They said, aren't you like that guy?
No, I'm not that guy
So get it out of your head
Get it out of your head

Upon Reflection

Upon reflection
I can see your point of view
But I was just having fun
I meant no offense to you
Now you treat me like a demon on a steeple
If you took all of the stupid things I’ve done
Photographed them, framed them
And then hung them on the wall
This Stupid Hall of Shame
Would be fifty miles long
And I’d like to stop it now
But I really don’t know how
What decisions were the best you ever made
And what decisions were the worst
When you know the right but still decide the wrong
It's a battle it's a curse
What decisions were the best you ever made
Are you better at them now
Can your self-reflection give you any worth
Above the deafening din of doubt
If you took every valiant thing you've done
Turned them into murals that you burned into the wall
Would they cauterize this lengthy Hall of Shame
'Coz I’d like to stop it now
But I really don’t know how
Upon reflection
I can see your point of view
But I was just having fun
I meant no offense to you
Now you treat me like a demon on a steeple

Take It All Away
03:23

Every time there's a little bit of thinking
You will see him run away
Every time there's a chance he'll see his true self
You will always hear him say
Take it all
Take it all away
Take it all
Take it all away from me
Take it all
Take it all away
Take it all
Take it all away from me
He knows there is an unplumbed him
But he fears it will make his mind burst
Watch his world come crumble down
And leave his head in some place else worse
Should he trust the path of his thoughts
Though they flit and fly away
One day he may try to catch them
In the meantime he will say
Take it all
Take it all away
Take it all
Take it all away from me
Take it all
Take it all away
Take it all
Take it all away from me

It was a summer day
Or maybe winter I’m not sure
The sun was shining brightly
But I don’t recall the temperature
You were talking like you do
In hushed movie theatre voice
While everyone was singing songs by Bobby Hart and Tommy Boyce
And I was strolling down a stream of
Can't Catch Me's and Maybellene's
With Cadillacs and Pontiacs
That I grew right up in-between
And older sisters with their hair
And freckles on their skins
Reveal a certain luster when they’re dancing through the den (or din, if you prefer)
And we weren't holding on
To anything or anyone or anytime
If you don't stop it now
I swear to you I think that I'll go blind
Well we stole his car
While Daddy slept
And ended up in such a wreck
You had to lie down on the floor
To save your neck
Your mother's room
Was full of noise
Rebel lace and corduroys
Smoking genies in the night
Would always make you feel all right
And we weren't holding on
To anything or anyone or anytime
But if you don't stop it now
I swear to you I think that I'll go blind

Jewelry

You're working
Melting metal, setting stone
Yes you're working
You own a bone, a phone, alone
Everybody needs some beauty
So you make some beauty for your world
Every piece you make is faithful
Faithful to the jewel that you are
You're working
Designs are falling from the air
You're still working?
Working like you haven’t got a care
Intimacy in imperfection
Let me lay it on your ear again
Intimacy in imperfection
And the world needn’t know
And the world needn't need to
Everybody needs some beauty
So you make some beauty for your world
Every piece you make is faithful
Faithful to the jewel that you are

I'd Love To Join You
03:03
|
|||
Everything is going well
And the timing seems just right
And it's only natural
But I believe I'm gonna pass
It doesn't do me like it did
And that's a drag
I'd really love to join you
But I don't know which me I'm gonna be
Everything is going well
And the timing seems so right
I'd really love to join you
But I don't know which me I'm gonna be
Sometimes I feel fine
And other times I lose my mind
And I don't know which one
It's gonna be...

Eufala Falls

Ooh where are we going to
Ooh where are we going
The water's cool
But my mind's asleep
I fear I'll wake to find
I'm in too deep
Will I fall in love with you
Tell me what it is you want from me
The water holds so much we'll never see
Will I fall in love with you
Ooh where are we going to
Ooh where are we going
Will I fall
Like Eufala falls
Will I fall
Like Eufala falls
The jump is far
But the fall is close
In the water
We may seem like ghosts
Will I fall in love with you
Ooh where are we going to
Ooh where are we going
Will I fall
Like Eufala falls
Will I fall
Like Eufala falls

The Marble Tea Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey
Drawing mandalas and watching Captain Kangaroo...that's pretty much what it's like in here. I enjoy writing songs about my
cats and cartoon insects, but I'm also fond of feeling up the tentacles that lead to the oneness of existence. That's the Marble Tea experience.
Recommended for fans of Jonathan Richman, Robyn Hitchcock, Jazz Butcher, Magnetic Fields, etc.
