about

The initial concept for this song came about when I was involved with a potential children's emotional education television project. It never came to be, but the gist of the song hung around. When I was gathering song snippets that I wanted to complete for this album, this one raised its hand. Much of it turns out to be words and feelings I would've liked to have said to my mother in her final hours if I had been there.

lyrics

When the doom gets heavy
When the hope is dim
Don't be too disheartened
Don't be crestfallen

There are other things around you
There's another path to take
Feel the air that does surround you
Every moment is awake
Time is frames on film strip
Time is real yet fake

Take in a breath
Believe that everything is fine
Just breathe, just breathe

Don't be frightened by the future
Don't be ill about the past
Everything is nothing
Nothing isn't bad

You put your eyes on someday
Someday is not today
You only need this one day
And it's okay

Take in a breath
Believe that everything is fine
Just breathe, just breathe

Just breathe, just breathe

about

The Marble Tea Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey

Drawing mandalas and watching Captain Kangaroo...that's pretty much what it's like in here. I enjoy writing songs about my cats and cartoon insects, but I'm also fond of feeling up the tentacles that lead to the oneness of existence. That's the Marble Tea experience.

Recommended for fans of Jonathan Richman, Robyn Hitchcock, Jazz Butcher, Magnetic Fields, etc.
