about

sometimes, when you're not sure exactly what you need, the day itself shows you all the good stuff that was already there. it's not unusual to find that people driving in convertible cars on breezy days have a certain active tranquility that approaches some form of zen state and, if that radio's on, all the better. written in celebration of automotive freedom and the argonne corridor.

lyrics

i didn't say i was looking
for a way to be good
i didn't say i was looking
for a way to be bad
what i said was i needed
a place to be felt
whether with a soft feather
or a leather belt

it's a truly fantastic day today
just a perfect fantastic day today

i don't mind being taken
around the block
in your car with the window
down you're so hot
under trees through the street
with the radio on
singing loud and offkey
to that tom jones song

it's a truly fantastic day today
just a perfect fantastic day today

i've got news for the teenage kids
on the corner
i don't need sega-vision
or time warner
just give me all the air
and that cool breeze
we'll buzz around like
a couple of honey bees

it's a truly fantastic day today
just a perfect fantastic day today

about

The Marble Tea Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey

Drawing mandalas and watching Captain Kangaroo...that's pretty much what it's like in here. I enjoy writing songs about my cats and cartoon insects, but I'm also fond of feeling up the tentacles that lead to the oneness of existence. That's the Marble Tea experience.

Recommended for fans of Jonathan Richman, Robyn Hitchcock, Jazz Butcher, Magnetic Fields, etc.
